USB-IDM
The USB-IDM is a robust and protable IDM software solution to connect the software to the radio. It's module design consists of two cables. The first has a USB connector for attachment to any computing device on one end and has an embedded circuit card with a digital signal processor (DSP) on-board. The second cable forms the bridge between the first cable and the unique radio connector. Each portion can be purchased separately and is guaranteed to have future interoperability with JSF.
Capabilities
- Protocols:
- MIL-STD-188-220 B/C/D
- AFAPD
- TACFIRE
- MTS (available on request)
- Message Header:
- MIL-STD-2045-47001 B/C/D
- Modulation:
- Both synchronous and asynchronous
- Computer interface:
- Our WinIDM software incorporates a robust USB interface that allows for inadvertent cable disconnects.
- No need to "eject" the cable when it is disconnected
- Comm ports:
- Two for taqctical data (VMF, AFAPD, etc.) for two separate radios
- Two for radio configuration control
- Data Rate:
- 1200, 2400 and 16,000 bps
- Weight:
- 0.7 lb (0.326 kg), but this is length dependent
- Power:
- USB port at approximately 1.25W at 5VDC for the asynchronous/synchronous cable. (If only synchronous operation is required, the power usage would be approximately 0.75W.)
- Dimensions:
- USB is good up to about six feet, but the radio interface cable can be almost any length up to about 20 feet.
