The IDM-304 is the modem of choice for US Army helicopters such as the Apache Longbow, Kiowa Warrior, Chinook and Blackhawk. It provides 6 radio interfaces including many UHF and VHF radios plus EPLRS and L-Band transceivers. The IDM-304 makes extensive use of the Internet Protocol (IP) stack for message handling both on the host side and with protocols such as MIL-STD-188-220. The IDM-304 contains special software for the US Army that is only exportable through an FMS case.
