Symetrics Wins $67M Contract For AN/ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispenser System
Melbourne, Florida - 03 Nov 2006Symetrics Industries LLC was awarded a $67M contract for production of the AN/ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispenser System (CMDS) for the U.S. Department of Defense. The contracting agency for the program is Warner Robins Air Logistics Center (WR-ALC) at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. The award covers a five-year ordering period, including options. If all options are exercised, the total award value will rise to approximately $130M.
This marks the fifth straight award to Symetrics from WR-ALC for the AN/ALE-47 since the company won the production contract in 2001. “We are very pleased to continue our service to the men and women in the Armed Forces that benefit from this critical life saving self-protection system,” stated Chris Watt, Symetrics’ Vice President of Business Development. “We are also proud and grateful to be recognized by the U.S. Government as a trusted and responsive supplier --- one they can continually rely on for our high quality products,” Watt went on to say.
The AN/ALE-47 CMDS is an Electronic Warfare self-protection system that provides combat aircrews with enhanced survivability against surface-to-air and air-to-air missile threats in all environments. It can easily be integrated with numerous complementary systems, including Missile Warning Systems (MWS), onboard RF Jamming systems, and Radar Warning Receivers (RWR). Symetrics has delivered thousands of components to the Department of Defense, the US State Department, and numerous domestic and international commercial customers as the U.S. Government’s prime supplier of the system for the last 5 years.

Symetrics Awarded NAVAIR AN/USQ-131/B Memory Loader Verifier Set Contract
Melbourne, Florida - 01 Nov 2006Symetrics Industries, LLC was recently awarded a contract from the US Navy’s Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) for over 100 AN/USQ-131/B Memory Loader Verifier Sets (MLVS). The contract value was approximately $1.5M and was significant for Symetrics, as this marked the 8th straight year of continuous production on this unit.
Symetrics received an additional order for a number of MLVS units from another local Melbourne business, that totaled over half a million dollars. Given the success of these two awards, and Symetrics’ recognition as the proven source for the USQ-131/B, they expect an additional order for an unspecified number of MLVS units from NAVICP, and at least one other DoD contractor prior to the end of the year. Mitch Garner, President and CEO of Symetrics put it this way: "It is an honor to be awarded these multiple contracts, as it is a testimony to the Symetrics employees who work extremely hard to ensure that only the highest quality products are consistently delivered to our customers."
The AN/USQ-131/B Memory Loader-Verifier Set (MLVS) is a small portable unit that is capable of loading and verifying Operational Flight Programs (OFPs), Mission Data Files (MDFs) and User Data Files (UDFs) into aircraft's EW systems and self-protection suites. It is used to load the AN/ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispenser System --- a Symetrics-built system that protects aircraft from surface-to-air and air-to-air missiles. Both the MLVS and ALE-47 are utilized on aircraft throughout the world.
