Symetrics Industries joins with the EDC of Florida’s Space Coast
Symetrics Industries joins with the EDC of Florida’s Space Coast
Melbourne, Florida - 10 Jul 2009

Brevard County, Florida – Symetrics Industries has joined with the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast in setting a 3-Year Strategic Plan focused on building a better Brevard County. Together with the other coalition partners, we have identified industry clusters, primary strategic priorities and goals by which we will measure our success. We do this to improve our businesses, our lives, our communities and our opportunities, and because we believe we are stronger together than we are apart.

We will focus our efforts on five industry clusters: Aerospace/Aviation, Communications, Electronics, Advanced Security and Emerging Technologies. These are sectors where the community already has traction and expects to grow, succeed and lead.

We have selected four areas of strategic priority: business development, a competitive business environment, marketing and communications, and resource development and allocation. Each one of these areas represents an opportunity to affect the future of our county in a positive manner.

We have chosen three significant, ambitious goals. Reaching these goals can occur only by focusing on our selected industry clusters and strategic priorities. The three goals are: 2,250 new jobs, 12 changed business practices and becoming a Community of Distinction as identified by a national publication.

Over the course of the three years we will track milestones, recalibrate when necessary, and provide feedback to coalition partners and the community. This plan, when successful, will position Brevard County as a leader in job creation, business climate evolution and marketing—locally, nationally and globally. This will ultimately result in a strong and vital economic environment and a superb quality of life.

If you are not involved in this effort, please consider joining us. To learn more about this journey to build a better Brevard, visit the project website at www.spacecoastedc.org/journey.

Junior Achievement of East Central Florida Inc. has received an award of $2,000 to support the local implementation of "JA Exploring Economics" and "Our Nation" programs. The award was given to JA Symetrics Industries in Melbourne. Through hands-on classroom activities, Ja Exploring Economics fosters lifelong skills and knowledge about how the economy works, including micro-, macro-, personal, and international economics. Our nation introduces 5th-grade students to the concepts of glovalization as it relates to resources and careers, and the need for students to be entrepreneurial in their thinking to meet the requirements of business worldwide. "This award will allow us to implement these two new JA programs in Brevard County schools," said Tambre Clark, JA president. Symetrics Industries supports JA with new computer, monitor
Symetrics Industries supports JA with new computer, monitor
Melbourne, Florida - 13 Aug 2007

Junior Achievement of East Central Florida Inc. recently received a new computer and monitor donated by Symetrics Industries of Melbourne to help support JA's initiative to reach 10, 000 students per year in Brevard County by 2010.

"Being a locally owned and operated small business in Brevard County for over 44 years, Symetrics recognizes the importance of cultivating young minds and pointing them in the direction of entrepreneurship and business,” said Randy Koller, business-development manager for Symetrics.

”We believe that Junior Achievement affords an excellent opportunity to do this. Such a program can only flourish if it has the technology to do so. With that in mind we were honored to assist in JA’s cause with the recent donation of new IT equipment.”

Junior Achievement of East Central Florida provides “valuable, hands-on educational experiences to K-12 students in Brevard,” said Mark Malek, JA board chair. “When students experience Junior Achievement, they experience success. JA inspires young people to be successful in life with vital programs on work-force readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, and with the support of generous donors like Symetrics, JA can continue to make that happen.”
